Dark curtains flutter like butterfly wings stapled to a windswept wall,  Lit by artificial air in this sterile environ  As he tries in vain to sleep once again.   
Tossing and turning brings no relief  Like a sick creature in death throes   
A padded cell of sorts, white walls and tiles  No carpet, he’d said, I don’t get cold feet.  Stark and sparse as a hospice,  With light switch dusty, disused   
This is no place to call home.   
This floor is no bed  And yet softer shelter would bring no more peace  He knows.    Somnolus

Deus ex MachinaDeus ex Machina   
A lonely light in the late night or early morning shines with luminous luster.  The glow, in the boy, is reflected  Like an angelic presence,  A god in the machine,  In the empty eyes that swallow up all.  Twin black holes, with depth as oblivion   
What do they see? What do they wish?

Forgive me if I'm appropriate. I don't quite know what's acceptable anymore.   
A siren song of the screaming throng is ever so attractive nowadays,  Anyway.   
Won't you say  That everything is just like you dreamed  That its pineapples and cream  And that you never did think so highly   
That these lofty things you grasp are often lost   
Who says wealth is taken cheaply?  The pockets of the poor jingle-jangle with echoes of a newspaper bed  A shot to the head  As they pass your royals by with a smirk  But I guess it's be Pineapples and Cream

All right, so I've done the impossible, and actually finished the second chapter of stealing fire. Yes, I'm surprised at me, too. Also, I've made significant changes to the first chapter, so please, please, please reread it before reading the second chapter, if you could, because the changes are really important.

Oh man... Summer's been busy for me so far, so I haven't been around dA much during June. I have basketball to thank for that, but all my camps are over as of this past week and Monday marks my last summer league game, so I should have more time for reading/commenting/writing soon. I do have weekday basketball workouts, a community play, and a church camp coming up in July, though. >.< Haha...

Just a side note... If anyone is a Shakespeare enthusiast, our community play is As You Like It. I got the lead female role of Rosalind, and I'm very excited. :dance: I love the theatre!
